RDM Governance & Terms of Reference

[Sept 2020] This group is currently in abeyance, with future activities and configuration under review by the Steering Group and Directors Board.

A member of the Mercian Steering Group will act as a Group sponsor, while the Co-ordination group will maintain activities and operations, in liaision with the MC Development Officer.  An annual evaluative report (March) on group's activities will be produced to ensure accountability, and submitted for consideration by the Mercian Directors.  The RDM Support Group hope to be represented at the proposed 2017 Mercian Conference, to ensure and promote Group visibility among Mercian member organisations.

Terms of Reference

  1. To enable members to exchange experiences, knowledge, shared problems etc., with other practitioners working within the Mercian area in a safe, supportive, and friendly environment. This will include those institutions and practitioners not currently actively involved in RDM services and activities but who are looking to get involved.
  2. To conduct and commission research into best practice in RDM.
  3. To enable training resources to be created and shared, nominally via the Mercian website. These will include training for end users as well as train the trainer sessions
  4. To investigate what comparator institutions are doing in the RDM arena and collate an overview of this work. It can also signpost to existing resources and help for those members who are less experienced in the RDM area.
  5. To investigate options for working at scale (training materials etc.) as well as looking for potential funding opportunities to help build such collaborative resources.
  6. To develop a possible buddy system where more experienced practitioners act as a more personal support network for those who are new to the area.
